Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Limited (Oxy Qatar) has donated convertible car safety seats to Hamad Medical Corporation that will be gifted to the families of babies born at the Women’s Hospital.
Experts recommend that all infants and toddlers ride in a rear-facing car seat- preferably in the back seat – until they are at least two years of age.
Oxy Qatar also handed over to HMC a 26-seater bus, which will be available to transport patients requiring kidney dialysis from the corporation to and from Al Khor Hospital. The new bus, which will be provided free of charge, will allow patients easy access to the dialysis facilities at Al Khor.
The two donations are part of a long running corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnership between Oxy Qatar and HMC.
The handing over event held at the Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City club house was attended by HMC Corporate Communications department executive director Ali al-Khater, Nephrology department head Dr Hassan al-Malki, Nursing Administration assistant executive director  Haila Sweid Salim, Oxy Qatar president and general manager Stephen Kelly, deputy general manager Hassan al-Malki, CSR manager Naeema al-Hail and Public Relations manager Hana al-Asadi.
