In the Division I of the 1st M Pallonji Cricket Tournament 2013, QALCO posted a one-sided victory over ACC by 66 runs. |
ACC elected to field after winning the toss which eventually turned out to be a wrong decision. QALCO put up 86 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the first 10 overs and thereafter there was a hurricane batting by Buddika, who scored 59 runs off 21 balls. He hit eight sixes. Tharaka added another 58 runs, including three sixes and four boundaries. QALCO posted a massive 208 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
For ACC, Prasanth claimed three wickets while Affan scalped two.
In reply, ACC started strongly but continued to lose wickets in the first 10 overs. They were 76 runs for the loss of 5 wickets and thereafter were all out for 142 runs on the last ball of the allotted 20 overs. Affan offered some resistance scoring 34 runs off 18 balls with four sixes and a boundary. Firoz contributed 22 runs with three sixes. Basheer was not out on 16 runs, while Vinay scored 15 runs.
Mohsin was outstanding and took four wickets giving away only 12 runs. Shaikh Shafiq took 3 wickets, Tharaka 2 wickets while Majid and Talha took a wicket each.
QALCO’s Tharaka was adjudged as the Man of the Finals for his allround performance.
Rajeev of Serandeep was awarded the Best Batsman award, while Affan of Asistan Cricket was adjudged the Best Bowler. Shailesh of M Pallonji was given the Best All-rounder award while QALCO’s Sarfaraz was adjudged the Best Wicketkeeper.
