A Qatari delegation led by the Executive Director of the Qatar 2015 Men’s World Championship Organising Committee Ahmed Mohammed al-Shaabi showcased the championship brand in Cologne.

During the two days of action in the Lanxess Arena and throughout the days leading to the Europe’s top club competition, the members of the Qatari delegation had the opportunity to meet with important people from the world of handball and showcase the promotional campaign and brand of the 2015 Men’s World Championship.

The Qatari officials met and exchange thoughts and ideas with sports’ officials and experts, coming from both EHF and traditionally leading clubs, legends and experienced personnel, in order to support Organising Committee Chairman’s HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani pledge:

“Our vision is to promoting the handball community. Without any doubt staging the Championship in one single city enables an unbeatable feeling of togetherness to the handball family.”

Qatar 2015 promotional campaign main pillars in Doha were the offering of extremely tempting hospitality packages for handball fans who wish to “Feel the Heat” and travel to Doha to attend the 24th Men’s World Championships, as well as the perspective of presenting a unique spectacle in four state-of-the art venues, all located in Doha.

Qatar’s experience in organising major global events and State’s vision to strongly support and enhance the sports movement throughout its territory are two main factors that underwrite Qatar’s efficiency to stage an unforgettable event in 2015.

Apart from the organisational activities and targets Qatar 2015 organising committee’s desire is also to field a competitive team which will stand on an equal footing with handball’s superpowers.

The assignment of the Spanish coach Valero Rivera, who guided Spain to the 2013 World Championship trophy, in the role of the head coach of the Qatari team, justifies Qatar’s willingness to present an adversarial squad.

Ahmed Mohammed al-Shaabi had several discussions and meetings with Qatar’s new national coach who enjoyed in Cologne a huge recognition for what he had accomplished so far in his career.

Qatar 2015 organising committee members of board will follow many different events up to 2015 and a more in-depth strategic plan in collaboration with EHF for the 2013-14 and the 2014-15 Champions League seasons will be activated.
