Greetings sent to Italy leader
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to the President of Italy on the occasion of his country’s National Day.
QNHG meeting
The final meeting of the Qatar Natural History Group (QNHG) for the current season will be held at 7pm on June 5 at Doha English Speaking School. Biologist Dr Renee Richer of Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar will give an illustrated presentation, ‘Godly Greenery: Plants of the Qur’an and the Bible’. Signed copies of books on Qatar’s natural history, history and culture will be available, including the just-published Hidden in the Sands: Uncovering Qatar’s Past by Frances Gillespie.
