Al-Kuwari: Consultation, co-operation and safety are key
The HSE (health, safety and environment) Regulations and Enforcement Directorate of Qatar Petroleum recently organised a consultation workshop with industry stakeholders to discuss the 1st Technical HSE Framework for Qatar’s energy sector.
Held at the Renaissance City Centre Hotel, the workshop was attended by more than 30 HSE professionals representing major companies in Qatar’s oil and gas industry.
Two key subjects – an introduction to the HSE Framework and a Major Hazards Regime review – were presented to the delegates by the directorate’s technical specialists.
In his opening remarks, HSE Technical & Supervision manager Abdullah al-Kuwari welcomed all the delegates to the workshop and stressed the importance of consultation, co-operation and safety.
“This workshop is an opportunity for us to work closely with our stakeholders by understanding their concerns and gathering feedback. These will be used in future as we plan forward by improving the HSE Process Safety Risk Management (PSRM) culture and performance in Qatar,” said al-Kuwari.
The consultation workshop also featured group discussions covering a range of issues and concerns related to the future introduction of a Technical HSE Framework.
