Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will hold the fifth edition of Hya Abayas exhibition from June 4 to 9.
The announcement about the Middle East region’s largest abaya exhibition was made during a press conference attended by QTA delegations, exhibitors and media representatives at the Doha Exhibition Centre yesterday.
Recognised as one of Qatar’s most fashionable events, the Hya Abaya exhibition is organised by QTA and will showcase the region’s finest fashion in abayas.
Hamad al-Abdan, director of Exhibition Centre at QTA, said: “This year’s Hya Abaya exhibition will not only be the largest edition yet, but will also feature the largest number of Qatari designers. This would be the ideal platform for them to gain greater exposure for their creations. The fifth edition of the exhibition will continue to strengthen Qatar’s position as a leading fashion hub in the Middle East.”
The latest designs and trends for abayas, kaftans and evening gowns from Qatari and international designers will be on display, as part of the first exhibition of its kind in the region.
While many associate these wonderful garments with the colour black, they are also personal expressions of creativity and individuality.
Designers from around the Gulf region have already expressed an interest in exhibiting at the show which will feature fashion parades and cultural elements.
Hya Abaya is one of the five fundamental annual events organised by QTA to enable and develop the local tourism industry. The exhibition empowers and encourages both local and regional talents and flair and serves as the ultimate fashion platform to help showcase captivating designs and fascinating collections.
