Qatar Charity (QC) has laid the foundation stone of a charity complex in Sanaa, Yemen.
The project to be built at a cost of around QR1mn, is expected to be completed within 18 months. It includes an orphanage that would provide comprehensive care and services for about 50 orphans aged between one and 15 years.
It was launched by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Jassim al-Thani, member of general assembly of QC and the general supervisor of specialised projects in Yemen, during a recent visit to the area.
The building of the project, financed by Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa al-Thani, is made up of a two-storey orphanage with all the necessary facilities for education and administration, some commercial shops and residential apartments that could be leased.
The project mainly aims at protecting orphans from any potential delinquency and provide them with comprehensive social, spiritual, educational and health services to develop their skills in different fields.
