Buddhist pilgrims splash holy water while praying on the 2,557th anniversary of Buddha’s birthday at Syambhu temple in Kathmandu yesterday. Thousands of pilgrims, including Hindus, flocked to the Buddhist temple to mark Buddha’s birthday to pray for peace in the world. According to tradition, Buddha was born in what is now modern day Nepal.
