Ooredoo has launched a new MoneyGram promotion with Ooredoo Mobile Money, which lets customers send money home for only QR1 until June 3.
Previous MoneyGram offers have been targeted at specific countries. Taking into account the increasing number of customers, Ooredoo Mobile Money is now providing a flat rate of QR1 for international transfers to all 196 countries covered by the service.
The promotion is also part of Ooredoo’s goals of giving back to Qatar’s diverse community of international residents.
Ooredoo Mobile Money allows customers to send money quickly, easily and safely for collection at more than 321,000 MoneyGram agents in 196 countries, all through the convenience of their mobile phone.
Since Ooredoo Mobile Money was launched in 2011, more than 100,000 people have registered for the service.
The promotion provides savings on the already-competitive MoneyGram transfer fees, which are an average QR18 for Asia, QR30 for the Arabian Gulf and QR40 for Africa and Europe.
Ooredoo Mobile Money is particularly useful for customers who do not have bank accounts or who have limited access to banking services.
Customers no longer have to wait in queues at exchange houses and can easily sign up with a valid Qatar ID at any Ooredoo shop or by dialling *140# on their mobile and following the on-screen instructions.
Customers can deposit money in their Mobile Money mWallet at any Ooredoo self-service machine or Ooredoo shop, or by direct transfer from a QNB account through QNB mobile payment.
Mobile Money customers can continue to win prizes through a Smartphone and LuLu Voucher Prize Draw, which runs every week until June 6. Every international transfer made using Mobile Money gives customers one entry into a draw for a smartphone or one of 20 LuLu Hypermarket vouchers worth QR200.
