They are expat housewife Chitra Chaturvedi who won a “makeover” for her living-cum-dining room, dentist and Al Khor resident Farah Zaidi whose bedroom received a “stylish” Home Centre makeover, and Omar Zareed who won a “beautiful” makeover for his children’s room.
From over 3,500 entries across the GCC, the jury panel picked some 20 winners for the room makeovers. Seven winners are from the UAE, two each from Bahrain and Oman, and three each from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Aarti Jagtiani, general manager, Home Centre, said: “Like last year, this has been a very difficult judging process with a multitude of entries coming in from a very large audience. Not only is it a great challenge and learning for the brand, but it is also a very fulfilling experience that goes beyond creating appealing homes. It allows us to touch the lives of people in the countries we operate and experience the impact our brand can have on their lives.”
Home Centre said: “Each room makeover worth QR10,000 is executed in a day by the Home Centre teams of stylists. The experts base their recommendations on the tastes and personalities of the winners, their requirements and reasons for the makeover, new trends in the market and optimum utilisation of space.
“Homes are redone with the latest range of Home Centre furniture and household accessories to bring alive a new trend with maximum utility for everyday living. The result is a distinct visual impact created by matching colours, lighting, palettes and textures to reflect the personality of the winners and their needs.
Voted a UAE ‘Superbrand’ in January 2012 for the third consecutive year, Home Centre offers a mix of contemporary and traditional designs across furniture, furnishings, home accessories, kitchenware and gift options.
