The Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee and the Qatar Statistics Authority will today begin a survey among the residents of Al Rayyan area on the development of the planned new stadium in Al Rayyan, which will play host to the 2022 FIFA World Cup games. |
The survey, which is specifically aimed at citizens and residents of the Al Rayyan municipality, will be available on the Qatar Statistics Authority (QSA) website at www.qsa.com.qa for a period of three weeks.
A wide variety of people are expected to participate in the survey, particularly as the developments will have a direct impact upon future generations and leave a legacy of urban revitalisation in the Al Rayyan area.
QSA president and Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee’s Legacy Committee chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim al-Thani urged citizens and residents of the areas surrounding Al Rayyan to participate in the survey in order to ensure that community opinions are taken into consideration prior to construction and development in the area .
The survey aims to gather the relevant information required to assist in the decision-making process concerning the precinct of the future stadium site and to ensure that new urban development in the area leaves a lasting social, economic and sporting legacy for citizens and residents.
The survey is the second in a series being conducted by the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee and QSA as part of the ‘community participation’ programme .
The first survey, launched on February 12, was aimed at residents of Al Wakrah and the surrounding areas.
The result of this survey will be announced in due course.
