Vodafone has launched the “Nearly New” programme, which offers pre-owned smartphones at a discount for prepaid and postpaid customers. |
The online offering makes it more affordable for customers to own a smartphone, helping them access e-mail, the Internet, apps such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and games while on the go.
The “Nearly New” handsets are phones that have been returned in good condition by Vodafone customers in less than seven days since the date of purchase. The handsets come with a six-month warranty and go through a 60-point series of checks and processes (including a full security wipe) before being placed on the scheme and are re-boxed.
The quality check includes a review of power, display, audio, keypad functionality, GPS and screen rotation, advanced functionality, WiFi, Bluetooth, software and cosmetics.
The offer is available exclusively on the Vodafone eShop, www.vodafone.qa/Nearlynew At present, the “Nearly New” section is offering a selection of iPhones, with additional brands, tablets and USB sticks coming soon. Due to variations in the returned mobile phones, the handset ranges will vary on a monthly basis.
The current deals include iPhone 5 16GB for QR1,999 on postpaid (savings of QR650) and iPhone 5 64GB for QR2,699 on prepaid (savings of QR900), among others.
“‘Nearly New’ is designed to make it even more affordable for people to own a smartphone and start using applications and mobile Internet to connect with friends and family,” said Marc Norris, chief commercial officer for Vodafone Qatar. “Each ‘Nearly New’ device is bundled with a prepaid or postpaid plan, offering customers consistent and fast mobile Internet with great rates per MB and flexible voice, SMS and data packages.”
The ongoing offer is aimed at customers who are yet to get a smartphone or would like to add a second one.
