Woqod (Qatar Fuel) inaugurated a new service station in Rawdat al-Hamama yesterday. It is located 15km north of Landmark Mall on Al Shamal Road. |
The station was officially inaugurated by HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Chairman of Woqod and the Administrative Control & Transparency Authority, with the participation of the vice-chairman and managing director of Woqod along with several board directors. A number of municipality and government dignitaries, as well as Woqod employees, attended the event.
The service station offers a variety of products and services for the local community in Rawdat Al-Hamama district as well as users on the main North Highway Road. “In designing this service station, we took into account the various needs of the different types of customers who would use the site,” said HE al-Attiyah. “The station will provide gasoline and diesel for motorists and a special lane for fuelling trucks with high-speed dispensers, as well as a drive-through facility for cars.”
The service station also features a Sidra convenience store with a playground for children and families . Additionally, Sidra Gardens will host a number of fast-food restaurants and a pharmacy, according to the chairman.
The site includes car wash, tyre bays and basic vehicle maintenance facilities, he added. “The services to be provided are within the context of Woqod’s desire to provide a community centre for customers in the area and from the highway.”
Rawdat Al-Hamama is the 19th service station in Woqod’s vision for Qatar. Further sites that will be opened this year will be located in Umm Salal East-North Rawdat Al Hamama, Mesaieed Truck Road and Bu Samra. Woqod has another two service stations under construction.
