Qatar-based Al Madaen Group has recently signed a management contract with Sonesta International Hotels, Resorts & Nile Cruises to manage and operate Sonesta Hotel Doha, the first Sonesta branded hotel in the Gulf region.

According to an Al Madaen spokesman , the first phase of the Sonesta Hotel Doha will be ready before the end of this year, comprising 166 rooms and suites, and by the end of 2014, the hotel’s capacity will reach 260 rooms and suites.
He said that the total investment in the project is QR400mn. The hotel is located at Al Sadd, making it very close to business centres, the downtown area, Doha International Airport as well as sports and conferences centres in the city.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Khalid al-Mahmoud, Executive Board Director of Al Madaen group, Eng Ehab Selim, Al Madaen Group general manager and along with representatives from Sonesta International, Felix Madeira, executive vice president, Nahed Samir, vice president of operations in the Middle East and Hesham Radwan, general manager of Sonesta Hotel Doha.
