The ‘Definitely Able’ campaign, organised by Sasol in conjunction with the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Qatar Paralympic Committee reached a climax on Thursday evening as the South African Paralympic wheelchair basketball team (WSBA) played an exhibition match against the Qatar national handball team.

The ‘Chairs versus Champs’ basketball match took place at City Centre, and was part of the campaign to raise awareness and illustrate the fact that people living with disabilities are able to reach and fulfil their dreams.
The WSBA team are former African champions, while the Qatar handball team has twice been runners-up at the Asian’s Men Handball Championship.
Master of ceremonies, Hamad al-Amari kept the crowd informed and engaged throughout the proceedings and players from both teams met the spectators following the match.
“The ‘Definitely Able’ campaign was initiated with the purpose of focusing on what one can accomplish regardless of his or her disability, and that everyone is definitely able to be what they want to be and do what they want to do,” said a spokesperson.
A number of events have been attended by senior officials and special guests, promoting awareness about disabled athletes in Qatar.
