In a first initiative of its kind, three Pakistani forums in Qatar have jointly donated 50 new personal computers to the Pakistan Education Centre (PEC).
Pakistan Professionals Forum Qatar (PPFQ), Pakistan Engineers Forum (PEF), and Pakistan Welfare Forum (PWF) are the organisations which made the donation.
A ceremony held in this regard also saw a QR50,000 donation from prominent Qatari, Sheikh Abdulla al-Thani, handed over to Pakistan Education Centre by his representative, Akram Butt.
Pakistan Engineers Forum’s Raheel Khan co-ordinated the donation of PCs.
The ceremony was attended by Pakistan Ambassador Sarfraz Khanzada, PPFQ chairman Dr Mazhar Monga, president Adnan Kirmani, and other officials of the three forums.
Speaking on the occasion, the ambassador - who was also an active participant of the initiative – announced that another 50 computers have also been procured from other sources.
He also reiterated the need for all the forums to play their part in improving the standard of the school at par with the best institutions in the country.
“It is our joint responsibility towards the community to support PEC and those who are blessed with time and resources must invest the same back into the lives of those who need it the most,” he urged.
Dr Monga appreciated the efforts of the ambassador and Raheel Khan and pledged that PPFQ will continue to play an active role towards the improvement of the school’s facilities.
The ceremony concluded with a tour of PEC’s computer labs. Principal Nargis Otho and other senior officials of the school were also present.
