One of the booths opened recently by Ooredoo.

Ooredoo customers can learn about Ooredoo Mobile Money and MoneyGram at special booths at City Center Doha and LuLu Hypermarket on D-Ring Road.

At these booths, which will remain open from today until May 11, customers can learn how to use Ooredoo Mobile Money and instantly send money to 196 countries around the world with MoneyGram - all from the convenience of their mobile phones.

To further spread the word about Ooredoo Mobile Money, Ooredoo will continue its Mobile Money Smartphone and LuLu Voucher Prize Draw, which runs until June 6.

As part of the promotion, every international transfer made using Ooredoo Mobile Money gives customers one entry into a draw for a smartphone or one of 20 LuLu Hypermarket vouchers each worth QR200.

Draws are held at the Ooredoo HQ 2 building and the next draw is on May 12. Customers can track the winners on the Ooredoo website, www.ooredoo.qa/en/OMMRaffleDraw, the Ooredoo Facebook page, www.facebook.com/OoredooQatar, or on Ooredoo’s Twitter account, @OoredooQatar.

Ooredoo Mobile Money is ideal for customers without bank accounts or with limited access to banking services. Since Ooredoo Mobile Money was launched in 2011 in partnership with QNB, more than 100,000 customers have signed up for the service.

The figure continues to grow as customers learn about the security and convenience of sending money 24 hours a day, seven days a week from their mobile phones, no longer having to wait in queues at exchange houses.

Ooredoo Mobile Money international transfers are conducted using the highest security standards. After every transfer, customers receive an instant SMS with an eight-digit reference number, which can be shared with the recipient to pick up the money from any of the 310,000 local MoneyGram agents around the world.

To avail of the service, Shahry or Hala customers with valid Qatar IDs can register at any Ooredoo Shop or dial *140# on their mobile and follow the on-screen instructions to set up an “mWallet” account on their mobile.

Once registered, customers can deposit money in their mWallet using any of the 200 Ooredoo self-service machines across Qatar. Deposits can also be made at Ooredoo shops or through direct transfer from a QNB account using the QNB
Mobile Payment service.

In addition, customers from Nepal and the Philippines can transfer money directly from their mobile to bank accounts back home, providing an extra level of convenience.
