Stargazers yesterday watched a rare celestial spectacle that will not happen again for another 105 years: the planet Venus passing directly between the Sun and Earth.  During the transit, Venus appears as a small, dark round spot moving across the face of the sun, like a bug on a dinner plate. Amateur astronomers, enthusiasts and students flocked to observatories and viewing stations across the globe to catch a glimpse of the phenomenon. The once-in-a-lifetime occurrence could be seen across Qatar with special  glasses and other appropriate equipment. This photograph was taken yesterday at  6.10am at Mesaieed through an insulated glass window by Faisal Jamal, Safety Engineer in QP, using a Canon EOS 7D camera.
