Keira Knightley married her fianceé James Righton yesterday in a low-key ceremony in the south of France. |
The star and Righton, keyboard player with the band The Klaxons, wed in front of a handful of friends and family in the town hall of Mazan, a village near Mont Ventoux in Provence.
The newlyweds are expected to celebrate the wedding at Keira’s family’s £3mn vineyard nearby.
Several marquee tents have been erected on the sprawling farm and the couple have employed a local catering team for the reception, during which guests will indulge in 120 bottles of wine sourced from local vineyard Chateau Minuty.
Knightley, 28, reportedly bought the estate, which has an eight-bedroom house and is covered in olive trees, in 2010 but it is in the name of her mother, playwright Sharman Macdonald, who is also registered as the chief winemaker.
The bride was spotted greeting her fiancé with a passionate kiss after driving to Nice airport to pick him up on Tuesday night.
The couple got engaged in May 2012 after meeting through mutual friend Alexa Chung, and Keira recently moved into a new home in East London with 29-year-old Righton Knightley, 28, is the star of Bend It Like Beckham and Atonement.
She and Righton, 29, gave some British tabloids the slip.
The Sun newspaper had reported that the couple was to marry in Nice, on the Cote d’Azur, about 200km away.
