Malomatia players celebrate after winning the Mall Sports Corporate Futsal Challenge at the City Centre Mall.

Malomatia defeated Q.Media 6-1 to win the Mall Sports Corporate Futsal Challenge at the City Centre Mall on Saturday. The City Centre, one of Doha’s most popular shopping centres, was turned into a football pitch over the weekend for the tournament.
The tournament was organised by the Qatar Stars League (QSL) and delivered by recreation experts QSports Leagues.The winners received a whopping prize of 10,000QR, while runners-up Q.Media picked up QR6,000. Q22 Supreme Committee, who finished third, received QR 3,000. Mizra Zjafic of Malomatia won the player of the tournament award and a cheque for QR1,000, while Abdul Fatah of Q.Media Decaux won the best keeper award and QR1,000.
Following on from the success of previous community football tournaments, the Mall Sports Corporate Futsal Challenge saw companies from all over Qatar compete directly against each other. The tournaments were launched as part of a special programme to get communities in Qatar more involved in football. The event proved a huge success with big crowds flocking round to see the action which took place over Friday and Saturday. As part of the competition each of the teams were paired with a QSL side when the initial draw was made.
This initiative has been designed to form a bond with the corresponding team. The groups were — Group A: Agency 222 – Lekhwiya, Delta Doha – Umm-Salal, Ernst & Young – Al Sadd; Group B: K & M Design – Al Gharafa, Venus International – Al Rayyan, Al Bandary – Al Wakrah; Group C: Itqan Holding – Al Khor, Q.Media Decaux - Qatar, Malomatia – Al Sailiya; Group D: Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee – Al Arabi, Qatalum – El Jaish, Mega Carpets – Al Kharaitiyat.
Delta Doha won Group A, Al Bandary Came out on top of Group B, Q.Media Decaux Tornado topped Group C, while Qatar 2022 won Group D.
