Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have the opportunity to vote in advance at the new Philippine embassy in Jelaiah area. Overseas voting is held every day from 8:30am to 4:30pm. However, since many OFWs are busy with their work, embassy staff who act as board of election inspectors say that few voters usually come during weekdays. Vice consul Melvin Almonguera said that those who have transactions like renewal of passports, getting clearances and authentication find time to vote. Embassy officials also held a field voting last Friday in Al Khor to reach more Filipinos.
