Qatar Stars League (QSL) has  become the world’s first league to offer tickets online with the option of printing tickets at home or receiving them through smartphones for every game and every club.

QSL has introduced Smart Gate ticketing system which gives football fans total control of how they buy and receive match tickets. “The Smart Gate project proves Qatar Stars League is constantly looking for ways to improve the experience we offer our fans,” said Abdulrahman al-Dosari, chief commercial officer of QSL.

“Our supporters are the lifeblood of the game and any service which improves their match-day experience is worth investing in,” he added. Fans can log on to tickets.qsl.com.qa to purchase tickets. Once registered, fans can select their seat for any match, see the view they will have from that seat and if contented with their choice, they can buy tickets securely online.

Tickets can be received via e-mail or through a smartphone. It can be scanned at any designated Smart Gates outlet. “It has never been easier to buy tickets for matches. The fact we chose to launch this initiative to coincide with an event as prestigious as HH the Heir Apparent Cup highlights the belief we have in the merits of this system,” Al-Dosari said.

He added that QSL’s initiative also helps in preserving the environment by saving paper and trees. But fans may also choose to collect their tickets in paper form from the stadium on match day. Hani Ballan, deputy CEO of QSL, lauded the new system saying that “Smart Gate underpins exactly the sort of excellence the QSL strives to achieve.”

Tickets are available to purchase online for the forthcoming HH the Heir Apparent Cup.
