The Fan Zone offers a range of excitements for people of all ages.
Football enthusiasts can head to the Qatar Foundation-FC Barcelona (FCB) Fan Zone this evening to watch the Champions League semi-final first leg tie between FCB and Bayern Munich.
QF’s partnership with FCB is dedicated to encouraging youth across the world to tap into their potential and passions through the pursuit of excellence in numerous fields, including sports and education. Before settling down to watch a live screening of the big match, the Fan Zone visitors will be given the opportunity to participate in fun-filled football-themed competitions.
The event kicks off at 8pm and will take place at Awsaj Academy’s football pitch. The Fan Zone attendees will again be invited to enter a Golden Goal contest in which they can try and guess the correct time of the last goal scored in the live game.
The contestant whose guess is closest to the right answer will win a set of tickets to Barcelona to watch FCB play at Camp Nou. Besides, there will be a number of other giveaways for fans and snacks will be provided for all.
At the last QF Fan Zone event, 25-year-old Ishak Thandankolil from India correctly guessed the time of the first goal and went home with two tickets, courtesy of QF.
Another contest winner is Lucia Domville from New York, who won the latest QF “Passion Drives Our World” competition. Along with her eight-year-old son Martin, she will watch the game live at Allianz Arena, Germany, today.
After the game, Domville and her son - who is a huge FCB fan - will return with the FCB team to Barcelona where they will be given a tour of the famous Camp Nou stadium and FCB Museum.
QF’s partnership with FCB has succeeded in capturing the global community’s interest. Its Fan Zone always generates a heady atmosphere as hundreds of enthusiastic supporters come together to watch two top football teams battle it out. And today’s game is guaranteed to be action-packed as it can pave the way for a possible Champions League final between FCB and Real Madrid, should both sides prevail in the semis.
