ISA Qatar officials at the group’s platinum jubilee.

The Qatar section of the International Society of Automation (ISA) celebrated its platinum jubilee by conducting its 75th technical seminar, which was attended by guest of honour, head of utilities at SEEF, Sultan Ameen.
ISA is the world’s largest professional body of automation and instrumentation and control professionals, with some 30,000 members, 300,000 associates and more than 120 sections around the world.
ISA Qatar was formed in 2001 by 26 professionals, and now has more than 300 members from companies such as Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, RasGas, QAFCO, QAFAC, QChem, QVC, QASCO, QAPCO, QEWC, ORYX GTL, Shell GTL, Worley Parsons, Technip and others.
The group organised technical seminars and conferences in the fields of plant safety, instrumentation and control, and optimisation and information systems.
ISA Qatar also works with universities in Qatar to help develop young engineers and provide specialised training.
The organisation has also recently undertaken an initiative to provide international certification to engineers in Qatar through their certified automation professional and certified control system technician programmes.
