HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday met at his Emiri Diwan office Egypt’s Prime Minister Hisham Kandil and the delegation accompanying him.

HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani attended the meeting along with a number of ministers.

During the meeting, the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent reiterated that Qatar stands by Egypt, noting that Doha’s support for the Egyptian people since the outbreak of the Egyptian revolution “is a duty”. 

He added that Egypt’s strength reflects on the Arab and Islamic worlds.

The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and means of developing and enhancing them, especially in the economic and investment fields.

Additionally, the latest developments on the Arab and international fronts were also taken up.

Meanwhile, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr al-Thani and Dr Hisham Kandil held a separate round of official talks yesterday and reviewed ties between the two countries and means of enhancing them.

They  also discussed a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern with emphasis on the current situation in the region.

Later the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Egyptian premier and his accompanying delegation .

Dr Kandil arrived in Doha on Tuesday evening on an official visit to Qatar.
