HE Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry Affairs and Qatar Petroleum chairman and managing director, will inaugurate the seventh edition of P Environment Fair on Saturday, at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by senior officials from QP’s various directorates and departments as well as by the top management of QP subsidiaries, joint venture partners and other major players in Qatar’s oil and gas industry.
Also being expected at the event are distinguished guests from government ministries, non-government organisations, environmental groups and academics.
The QP Environment Fair 2013 will showcase the environmental programmes and initiatives of over 35 companies and organisations in Qatar.
The theme of the three-day exhibition this year is “Clean Energy for a Sustainable World.”
In addition to the exhibition, this year’s edition will also feature a wide range of entertaining and educational activities for students and for the families.
Among the activities is the play “What is happening on the island?,” which will be presented three times daily by Sasol.
The Arabic educational and environmental play, is suited for children in the age group of four to 12 years.
Another major activity during the event is the QP Environment Race, which is patterned after the popular TV show the “Amazing Race.” The race will feature teams from 10 different schools who will compete in various physical and mental games.
Registration to the race is now open and all interested schools are advised to immediately send an e-mail to [email protected] or [email protected] to secure their participation. The deadline for registration is tomorrow.
QP Environment Fair 2013 will also feature live performances, handicraft stations, as well as specific areas showcasing marine life, deserts and
plantations.
