In all, 244 of the applicants are high school graduates while 19 are in their final year of high school. Ten hold diploma qualifications and 66 have graduate and post-graduate qualifications.

QTA director for shared services Ismael bin Mohamad  al-Sayed said: “Qatar Tourism Authority’s participation in the Career Fair reflects our commitment to the 2030 Vision, to develop human capital to achieve a knowledge-based economy.  We are committed, as well, to provide Qatari youth with suitable career opportunities as a priority for a brighter future, which will in turn reflect on the future development of Qatar.”
QTA’s recent initiatives include developing local talent in the  MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sector, with the introduction of new hospitality programmes.
QTA and Stenden University Qatar has recently signed a memorandum of understanding to initiate a new Tour Guide License Programme to develop professional tour guides for Qatar that are knowledgeable about the nation’s rich past and history, its culture and heritage as well as tourist and historical sites.  The aim is to train tour guides to have in–depth knowledge of Qatar’s heritage, history and culture as well as its many museums, theme parks and nature attractions.  Tour guides once trained will be able to share key and accurate information about the places tourists visit in Qatar on sightseeing tours, to enhance their stay and reflect local politics, religion, geography, as well as Qatari traditions and everyday life.
RasGas also received a large number of visitors at their booth during the six-day fair, with visitors learning and sharing their definition of success. Summing it all up in a few words, visitors were given an opportunity to pose for a picture holding up their ‘secret’ for success. The photos were then screened on loop at the stand for others to see and read.
