Commercialbank is the key sponsor of a classical concert by renowned Indian vocalist Kalapini Komkali (pictured) at the Concorde Hotel on May 25 at 6pm.
Komkali is widely recognised as one of the finest and well-trained classical vocalists of the younger generation in India.
The singer will be accompanied by Milind Kulkarni (harmonium) and Prashanth Pandav (tabla).
“This concert will honour Indian classical music and bring a celebrated vocal talent to Qatar. It is a testament to our commitment to our customers and to offer events, products and services that fulfil their aspirations and desires, as we cater to their financial needs,” said Raju Buddhiraju, executive general manager, enterprise banking, Commercialbank.
Adding that music is central to Qatar’s national vision, Raju stated Commercialbank hopes to encourage and instil a music and arts culture within the community, by sponsoring such events.
Kalapini Komkali is the disciple of her parents, legendary Indian musician, Pandit Kumar Gandharva and the illustrious Vidushi Vasundhara Komkali.
Kalapini learnt from her parents not only the technique and grammar of her art but has emerged in the last decade as a vocalist with a profound degree of sensitivity and intensity.  Her performances are marked by youthful imagination, artistic thoughtfulness and a mature command over various aspects of classical vocalism.
More information on the concert could be had from Commercialbank’s NRI banking division on 44490313.
