Qtel Data Centre has reached another significant milestone by achieving the globally-recognised standard certificate ISO 27001, making it one of the first data centres in Qatar to achieve this notable recognition.

Experts at the Qtel Data Centre continue to enhance the services by providing the highest levels of security for business customers. Since the inauguration in 2006, the Data Centre team has constantly strived to achieve the highest industry standards regarding, the management of information and ensuring data security. This includes the introduction of state-of-the-art services, in addition to the development and maintenance of secure data systems.
The ongoing investment in both service and support was one of the reasons that the Qtel Data Centre was eligible to receive the ISO 27001 certification.
ISO 27001 is an international standard certificate that has been developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards.
The certificate verifies that all operations at the Qtel Data Centre adhere to the specific standards for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system to support risk management for Qtel’s business customers.
Qtel has invested significantly in systems to ensure superior industry standards across its Data Centre operations, particularly the ones concerning the security of card and account holder data, which is becoming increasingly important for companies throughout Qatar.
The ISO has been developed exclusively for information security management systems (ISMS) and requires organisations to employ a methodical approach to managing sensitive information and ensuring data security.
The International Organisation for Standardisation is a non-governmental organisation that forms a bridge between the public and private sectors, focused on creating solutions that meet both the requirements of business and the broader needs of society.
Qtel works with the organisation to adhere to international standards in various areas of its business.
