Barwa Bank has reported a 41% rise in its net income to QR345mn in 2012, the bank said.

Total assets increased by 32% to QR25.3bn with financing portfolio growing 66% to QR15.3bn,.

Customer deposits grew 47% to QR14.8bn in 2012.

Building on its established presence in corporate and retail banking, Barwa Bank continued to diversify through the successful debut of its private banking proposition last year.

The Islamic bank also identified growth areas, making major investment in its treasury and capital markets capacity.

During the year, Barwa Bank’s elevated profile gained significant recognition both domestically and regionally; a development reflected in both customer acquisition volumes and a number of prestigious industry awards recognising its innovative products, outstanding service and exceptional growth.
