Division E Council with the district governor at the Toastmasters Annual Conference 2012
The Toastmasters Annual Conference (TAC) 2012, held recently at the Qatar National Convention Centre, was a grand success with more than 350 Toastmasters from all over Qatar attending.
The conference was presided over by the District 20 governor Toastmaster Khalid al-Qoud, Lt Governor for education and training, District 20, Toastmaster Alex Ginette, and chief guest Indian Ambassador Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, Special guests of honour were senior director of Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, Ali Amari, and from the Qatar Science and Technology Park, Mohamed al-Khaldi.
The winners in the four categories were Toastmasters Teju Thomas (humorous), Abhishek Chatopadhyay (table topics), Nisha Sivram (evaluation and international). These three Toastmasters will represent Division E (Qatar) at the annual convention in Bahrain from May 24-26, said Yasir Nainar, the TAC Qatar 2012 chairperson.
The fun filled programme kept the audience engaged from morning to evening without any communication fatigue, according to the Indian Ambassador in her keynote speech on ‘Communication Powers Change’ – the theme of the conference.
 Mohamed Fahad Kamal entertained the audience by narrating small incidents that reflected different communication gaps in the Arabian Gulf region. ‘Expression of Gratitude’ message was delivered by Toastmaster Saquib Raza Khan thanking the sponsors, attendees, contestants, support volunteers and the special guests who made TAC Qatar 2012 a memorable event in the Toastmasters calendar year 2011 – 2012.
