The General Administration of Civil Defence under the Ministry of Interior has ‘appreciated’ Consolidated Gulf Company (CGC) for its “support and cooperation in ensuring the safety and security of the people of Qatar”.
Major Hussain Aman al-Ali, assistant director of the Fire Prevention department under Civil Defence, presented an appreciation certificate to Tawfeeq Salem, CGC chief financial officer at his office in Doha recently in recognition of the company’s contribution to their safety efforts.
CGC, which is the MoI-authorised service provider for central alarm monitoring system (CAMS) for safety and security alarm communications, has played a “key role” in connecting vital locations and establishments to the National Command Centre, the Civil Defence and the telecom department.
The company has been working with the Fire Prevention department to extend the alarm system across all premises and locations that are required to have Civil Defence approval for safety measures.
Major al-Ali said: “The agenda of CAMS is to facilitate easy and quick communication of any emergency situation or an accident, thereby ensuring maximum support to incident site with faster response. With the efforts by CGC, Civil Defence hopes to have the target achieved at the earliest.”
Salem thanked Civil Defence for its appreciation and guidance.
“We are committed to meet the expectation of the Civil Defence and the MoI with unmatched support to achieve the safety standard. Besides offering the CAMS fire safety and security systems under their authorisation, we today serve our valued clients with a range of turnkey and technology solutions, including audio visual, CCTV, Cisco, TETRA, IT and ITeS, engineering among others meeting their customised needs,” he said.
