Williams Technology Centre Qatar (WTCQ), which develops and commercialises technologies that have their origin in Formula One, has got new trade show exhibit designs from a team of students.
The students from VCUQatar display the designs along with Sir Williams, Scott and VCUQatar faculty members
The new designs are from an educational project involving a group of students at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar’s Interior Design Sophomore Studio, an introduction to retail and branded environment design.
The girls were tasked with creating an exhibition stand for the 2013 Qatar Motor Show and other subsequent events on the automotive industry calendar.
The final presentation was attended by Williams F1 Team Principal Sir Frank Williams, who congratulated the students.
The need for the new designs originated from the fact that WTCQ exhibits at various trade shows around the world to showcase its technologies and requires visually stimulating stands that are informative and do justice to the products being adapted from the world of Formula One.
Matthew Holmes-Dallimore, interior design instructor at VCUQatar, said it was a privilege to be involved with such a prestigious and global brand.
Damien Scott, general manager of WTCQ, recalled it has been a fascinating project from start to finish and the enthusiasm shown by all students has been inspiring.
