

The Supreme Council of Health and Qatar Petroleum’s HSE Regulations and Enforcement Directorate (DG) will tomorrow hold a workshop for ‘Focal Points on Surveillance and Outbreaks Control of Communicable Diseases’ at the Grand Heritage Hotel and Spa.
Health representatives from energy and industry sector as well as officials from the Police Clinics, Qatar Military Medical Services, Qatar University, Qatar Foundation and Aspetar will attend the workshop.
The workshop will update the focal points on the surveillance and outbreaks control of communicable diseases in order to prevent the spread of the diseases and to lessen the burden of illness on public health and the industry.
The themes of the workshop will be on dealing with and managing some of the most common major diseases such as measles, chicken pox, meningitis, food poisoning and tuberculosis.
The necessary requirements of the use of personal protective equipment will also be highlighted during the workshop, which is also expected to cover other themes like active and routine surveillance of communicable diseases and preventive measures and precautions to be followed in cases of epidemics.
