Michel Deleuran
Milaha (formerly Qatar Navigation) has appointed former AP Moller-Maersk official Michel Deleuran as its executive vice- president (maritime operations).
Deleuran was most recently group senior vice president and chief executive, North Europe region, at AP Moller–Maersk, and brings more than 25 years of global experience across several business areas in the maritime industry, including container liner shipping, port management, logistics, asset management and human resources.
At Milaha, he, an alumnus of Harvard Business School as well as Wharton and Columbia Business School, will be directly overseeing the activities of the gas, petrochem and maritime and logistics business pillars.
“His background and vast leadership and operational experience will be invaluable in driving forward Milaha’s ambitious growth plans in its core sectors,” said Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani, chairman and managing director, Milaha.
In a separate communique, Milaha said the company’s management will conduct a conference call tomorrow to review the financial results for the first quarter of the financial year ended March 31, 2012. The results were released on April 30.
