Katara, the Cultural Village welcomed Martin Aeschbacher, ambassador of the newly opened Swiss Embassy in Qatar and Mahdi Ahmed, the ambassador of Ethiopia.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager of Katara, discussed the current and future cultural relationship between the countries.
The main aim of the meeting was hosting joint cultural events in the future to promote the different elements of the cultures in Qatar. Katara intends to establish a long-lasting relationship with the embassies of Switzerland and Ethiopia in order to host various cultural events in future.
Dr al-Sulaiti said: “We look forward to initiate a relationship with Switzerland and Ethiopia to celebrate their cultures but also provide a platform for knowledge exchange.”
The meeting was attended by Katara officials, Darwish Saleh al-Shibany (manager of marketing and international relations and acting manager of cultural affairs), Malika Mohamed al-Shraim (manager of PR and communications) and Omar Ali al-Mannai (general manager’s office manager).
