Commercialbank has donated a 26-seat Coaster bus to the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) in a gesture to promote the sport in the country.
The bus will be used to transport team members to and from their homes to matches and practise sessions.
The QCA is representing Qatar’s national cricket teams in the Asian Cricket Council and International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments.
This is in line with Qatar’s national vision of socio-economic development in the country.
The bus keys were handed over by Commercialbank Group chief executive officer Andy Stevens to QCA president M A Shahid in the presence of the other QCA officials and the Commercialbank cricket team.
Speaking on the occasion, Stevens said that Commercialbank supports the national drive to instil a strong sporting culture and emphasise the benefits of sports in team building.
Commercialbank also hopes to partner with QCA, which has been commissioned by the Qatar Olympic Committee, to promote cricket in Qatar in line with ICC’s development programme in Asia.
Shahid described Commercialbank’s commitment to promoting cricket underlines Qatar’s commitment to become a leading nation in bringing the world together through sport.
