The Youth Company is organising a fashion show to raise funds for the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research, formerly known as Al Amal hospital.
As part of its cancer awareness campaign and to help cancer patients, it will be launching the Al Amal Charity Fashion Show on March 8, 2013 at Multipurpose Hall of Aspire Ladies Fitness Club.
Initiated by young local fashion designer Fatma Ghanem, the fashion show will feature an elite and diverse collection of Abayas, reflecting the ’60 themes “The soul of the 60’s”. Ghanem said she decided to use her talent to help the community.
The main programme will start at 6pm and the doors will be open from 5pm allowing all guests to enjoy the exhibition of artwork by local artists and designers. All the artwork and Abayas can be bought at the auction.
Proceeds of the event will be donated to the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research.
“One of our main programmes – YOU in Action – is focused on promotion of community engagement and raising awareness about important social issues and needs,” said Aya Abu Issa, acting chief executive officer of The Youth Company.
“We hope that Al Amal Cancer Awareness Campaign and Charity Fashion Show will let people know about the needs of cancer patients in Qatar and motivate public to support the cause”, she stressed.
The Qatar Charity, Supreme Council of Health, Aspire Ladies Fitness Club – the host of the event, and Commercialbank (sponsor of The Youth Company) are fully supporting the campaign.
Tickets for the Al Amal Charity Fashion Show are available at Virgin Megastore.
