Qatar’s Al Shaqab yet again dazzled during the Straight Egyptian Show as part of the 22nd Qatar International Arabian Horse Show yesterday. |
After having scooped four wins on the opening day of Straight Egyptian Show on Sunday at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club premises, Al Shaqab’s two horses were declared Gold Champions.
Maymoona Al Shaqab was the Gold Champion in Junior Championships Fillies section. Qatar swept to all three places, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Amaal Al Waab was Silver Champion while Basmata Al Nasser was Bronze Champion.
Maymoona Al Shaqab had also taken the top spot in the Class 3 Fillies (3 Years) category.
In the Junior Championships Colts, it was Al Shaqab’s Bariq Al Shaqab that shone brighter by being the Gold Champion. Maymoon Al Shaqab was Silver Champion. Fareed Al Waab was Bronze Champion.
Bariq Al Shaqab was also the winner of Class 4 Colts (1 Year). Maymoon Al Shaqab took the top honours in the Class 6 Colts (3 Years).
In the Senior Championships Mares, Qatar’s Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid al-Thani owned D’aajaa Al Naif took the Gold Champion title. Farida Al Nasser was Silver Champion followed by Ajmal Farasha the Bronze Champion.
D’aajaa Al Naif was the champion in Class 7 Mares (4-6 Years). Ajmal Farasha had won the Class 8 Mares (7-10 Years).
It was a double success for Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid al-Thani as his other horse Barraq El Aliya was adjudged the Gold Champion in the Senior Championships Stallions. Authentic Nawal was second followed by Soker in third.
Barraq El Aliya was also the winner in the Class 10 Stallions (4-6 Years). Authentic Nawal won the Class 11 Stallions (7-10 Years).
Saudi Arabia’s Salman Mohamed al-Howaiti owned Rawhaneya won the Class 9 Mares 11 and over.
