| Afif Ramadan, Standard Chartered Bank’s new chief financial officer in Qatar |
Afif succeeds Imad Khuzam, who was in the role for six years and will now move to another role in the bank.
Afif is a seasoned banker with leadership experience in different markets in the region, namely the UAE and Lebanon; and across various multinational organisations within the financial services industry, including KPMG, Citibank, and Barclays Bank.
Commenting on the new appointment, Charles Carlson, CEO for Standard Chartered in Qatar said: “I am pleased to welcome Afif to the team. This appointment is a reflection of our commitment to continue to build a strong and dynamic senior management team in the country. I am looking forward to working with him as we continue to strengthen the Standard Chartered franchise in Qatar”.
Afif’s primary responsibility in his new role will be to pave the way for the execution of the bank’s growth strategy, while maintaining the robust control environment.
Speaking on his appointment, Afif said: “I am delighted to join Standard Chartered in Qatar, given the growth potential this market has to offer, coupled with the bank’s commitment to this region and its consistent strategy”.
