Qatar’s Al Shaqab Stud won two categories during the second day of the 22nd Qatar International Arabian Horse Show at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club premises yesterday.

Al Shaqab’s Klassic Harmony and Venetzia were the champion horses that dazzled.

Klassic Harmony, with 91 points, took the top spot in Class 7B for four to six-year-old mares while Venetzia claimed the top prize in Class 8 for seven to 10 year old Mares. Venetzia tallied 93 points Klassic Harmony was well ahead of the second-placed Wisal Al Shaqab which had 89.75 points. Ameerat Al Shgair was third with 89.25 points.

Ajman Stud from United Arab Emirates emerged winners in Class 9 for mares 11 years old and over. Ftoon Al Shaqab (91.25) was second followed by Negma Al Shaqab (91.00).

On Thursday, Qatar’s horses swept the top four slots in the Class 4 B for Yearling.

It was a good day for the hosts’ horses in Class 4 B for Yearling Colts. Kanz Al Nasser from Al Nasser Stud took the top position followed by Qaswarah Tho Al Janah (Owned by Jaffer Khall Radwani), Areeb Al Shaqab (Al Shaqab Qatar) and Shaleel El Aliya (Mohamed Ali al-Kuwari).Kanz Al Nasser tallied 90.25 points to be adjudged the best horse in this category.

There was also one more winner from Qatar. Al Shaqab’s Sultan Al Shaqab was the best horse in Class 5 B for two-year- old Colts. Sultan Al Shaqab was awarded 90.75 points.

In Class 5 A for two-year-old colts, Royal Cavalry Oman’s Subhi collected 91 points to finish on top of the competition.

Saudi Arabia’s Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud had a winner when his horse Peace From The Desert was the champion in the Class 6 for three-year-old Colts. The winner had 92 points. Ghasham Al Shaqab was second followed by Farooq Al Khaled.
