Anjuman Muhibban-e-Urdu Hind, Qatar, is organising a grand mushaira (poetic symposium) on February 22.
The event will be held at Giwana Hall of Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha, from 8.30pm. Ten prominent poets from India and five from Qatar will participate in the programme.
The participants from India are Waseem Barelvi, Anwar Jalalpuri, Ana Dehlavi, Farhat Ahsaas, Azam Shakiri, Atul Ajnabi, Sharaf Nanpanvi, Mujawar Maleganvi, Moin Amar Bamboo and Aamir Kidwai. From Qatar, the poets who will attend the event are Aziz Nabil, Nadeem Mahir, Ashfaque Q, Qaisar Masood and Azhar Zia.
HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari and
Indian ambassador to Qatar Sanjiv Arora will be the chief guests.
The Anjuman, a socio-literary organisation that works for the promotion of the Urdu language, has held several “grand mushairas” over the past few years as a sequel to India’s Republic Day celebrations.
