Founding members of Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) Alumni are seen with School principal Nargis Raza Otho
The Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) Alumni was recently launched in Doha to serve as a link between the institution and its old students, as well as to provide a platform to contact former students around the world.
PEC is one of the oldest expatriate schools in Qatar, which is run under the auspices of the Pakistan embassy.
Founding members said the group was formed because of a lack of an organisation to assist Pakistani students in Doha in pursuing further studies and other areas.
Chairman of the PEC alumni, Dr Amer Younus said at the weekly meeting of the group: “The alumni will serve as a platform for the past, present and future students of PEC. We will work in liaison with the board of governors of PEC as well as the students.”
The group has executive and management councils, and school principal Nargis Raza Otho will be part of its senior management, while Pakistani Ambassador Mohamed Sarfaraz Khanzada will be its patron-in-chief.
Social media representative for the group, Waqas Ijaz stated: “It’s exciting to be a part of the PEC Alumni. It makes me feel good that I now have the opportunity to come back and work for the school that taught me so much.”
