Qatargas yesterday announced its support for Qatar Charity through a donation made to the latter.
The donated amount comprised the proceeds of a charity sale raised by Qatargas on the sidelines of the Qatargas Open golf tournament in December 2012 and matched by a similar sum contributed directly by the company.
During a brief ceremony held at the Qatargas head office in Doha, Mansour Rashid al-Naimi, public relations manager of the company, handed over the contribution to Ali Mubarak al-Kubaisi, fundraising manager of Qatar Charity. Qatargas’ support will be used to execute various activities undertaken by Qatar Charity in the fields of social and cultural development as well as emergency relief.
“We are very happy to support Qatar Charity as part of our corporate social responsibility, which is one of our core strategic priorities at Qatargas. I would like to thank all the Qatargas employees and our guests who participated in the charity sale to raise money for this noble cause. Qatargas is always keen to support important social development and charity-oriented initiatives that will continue to improve the lives of the people of this country,” said al-Naimi.
Al-Kubaisi said, “We thank Qatargas for its contribution and appreciate its keen interest in supporting social development initiatives in the State of Qatar. We believe that through mutual co-operation, we will be able to further strengthen our efforts in serving all needy people and communities in Qatar and other parts of the world. We hope this will serve as a model for other organisations to follow.”
