QNA/Doha
Upon the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Qatar has started a humanitarian aid campaign for the Syrian people within the Syrian territories.
The campaign aims to secure $7mn worth of food and medical subsidy for needy families whose population is estimated at about 650,000. It covers the areas of Eastern Al-Gota, Western Al-Gota, Damascus and its suburbs, and Qalamoun.
The campaign has adopted one local council or association in every city in order to ensure distribution to all needy families and prevent duplication. It has also started the distribution of monthly food aid to 10,000 Syrians in the Qatana refugee camp on the Syrian-Turkish border.
