Qatar Airways has announced the names of five winners of the recently held Future of Travel children’s drawing competition, which attracted more than 400 entries from across Qatar.
Shahad Ali al-Ali, Sahal Rahman Vadakandathil, Anis Ariena Idora Nazrie, Aisha Fahad Kafood and Sanjay Kandaswamy will get the opportunity to visit Kindercity, a well-known tourist spot in Zurich providing entertainment with an educational element for children.
Qatar Airways had invited children aged between five and 12 years to draw and send their ideas that reflect the theme,
Future of Travel.
The entries were judged by a jury comprising renowned Qatari artists Fatma al-Shebani and Badrya Khalifa Ghanem al-Kubaisi, along with the senior management of the airline.
Al-Shebani, a graduate in Fine Arts from Qatar University, is a member of several art associations. The award-winning artist has had some of her work featured in private exhibitions in France, Lebanon, Qatar, the UAE, Germany and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Kubaisi, who works as an art teacher and adviser in Qatar, has participated in many local and international art exhibitions and also organised courses and art
workshops.
The judges commended the submissions, saying they were impressed with the extraordinary talent and creativity shown by the youngsters.
Ehab Amin, the airline’s vice-president (commercial) for Qatar, congratulated the winners and thanked the participants for their creative submissions.“We look forward to supporting more such activities in Qatar and are delighted to have provided this great opportunity to youngsters across the country,” he said. “The competition was in line with our commitment to promote and support Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and we are thrilled that most of the entries received were on sustainable and environment friendly travel in future.”
Qatar Airways will upload the drawing submissions on its Facebook page (facebook.com/qatarairways) and all participants, including the winners, will be offered backpacks and colouring kits as a token of appreciation.
