Robert will begin the climb at 4pm and there will be an area established from where spectators can view the feat, a representative of the hotel said.
The climber will attempt to conquer Doha’s tallest building, ascending the 300m tower without a safety rope or harness.
The attempt, which has been organised in conjunction with Aspire Zone Foundation, will also be shot by Robert’s production team as part of his 3D life documentary which is currently being filmed.
Speaking ahead of the climb, Robert said: “I feel like a child and I finally want to open my present: I want to climb The Torch.”
The 50-year-old Frenchman has climbed over 85 giant structures around the world, including the Empire State Building, Chicago’s Willis Tower and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Doha’s La Cigale Hotel which he climbed in 2008.
He also took just over six hours to conquer the tallest structure in the world, the Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates.
“The Human Spider” began climbing as a young boy scaling rock cliffs in the area around his home at Digoin, Saone-et-Loire, Bourgogne in France.
Torch Doha general manager Gerhard Foltin said: “We are very excited to welcome the sensational Alain Robert. It will be great to watch him climbing Doha’s highest structure.”
“Alain is unique and wherever he goes, he entertains his audience,” he said, adding “it’s a must-watch.”
