National carrier Qatar Airways will be a “Gold sponsor” at the 6th annual “Al Khor Fly-In” event, a highlight on Qatar’s aviation events calendar.
The event will be held today and tomorrow under the patronage of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.
The award-winning airline will be present throughout both days of the “Al Khor Fly-In”, hosting a Qatar Airways-branded tent with guests being welcomed by Qatar Airways staff.
Expecting to draw up to 5,000 visitors, the “Al Khor Fly-In” will run from 9am to 4.30pm on both days, and will once again bring together aircraft owners from Qatar, the GCC and overseas to showcase their aircraft and raise awareness about aviation in the region.
Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar al-Baker said: “The ‘Al Khor Fly-In’ is an important and engaging medium into the world of aviation for the Middle East, and Qatar Airways is proud to be involved in such a unique and long-standing event right here in the airline’s hub.”
“Qatar Airways is a leading force in regional and global aviation and we feel it is important to support and partner with events that strengthen the education of aviation in the region.”
“We at Qatar Airways pride ourselves on innovation and always strive to look for new ways to further our commitment in supporting growth and education within the aviation industry. The 2013 ‘Al Khor Fly-In’ is predicted to bring a record crowd this year and we fully intend to give them a show worth remembering,” added al-Baker.
One of the world’s fastest growing airlines, Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 15 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 118 aircraft to 123 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas with the aggressive expansion continuing into later this year.
