Birla Public School has held a soft opening for its new purpose-built complex at Abu Hamour on Wednesday when a section of students were welcomed.

The new premises will be fully operational from April 11.
There are about 150 classrooms and a multipurpose auditorium with a seating capacity of 700 in the ground plus two-floor building, covering nearly 22,000sqm. A swimming pool, dance rooms, music rooms, art rooms, indoor badminton courts, and a covered play area are also among the features of the new campus.
School chairman C V Rappai, vice chairman Lukose K Chacko, directors Dr Mohan Thomas, Gope Shahani and Aarti Oberoi and life members, Nilangshu Dey, Bhullar, and Walter and other dignitaries were present at the soft opening. Imperial Trading and Contracting Company, the main contractors, completed the complex in less than two years. The architect was Anil Kumar of Doha Design Centre.
The school officials expressed their gratitude to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for providing the land and the Supreme Education Council for its help and support.
Birla Public School’s patron Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani conveyed his best wishes to the staff and students through a message read out by the vice chairman.
The official inauguration of the new campus will take place on May 26 in the presence of special invitees from Qatar and India.
