Professional Sports Group, organisers of Dolphin Energy Doha Dash, yesterday announced that the inaugural event will support Reach out to Asia (Rota).
Rota is a non-governmental organisation within the framework of Qatar Foundation that seeks to extend its human development mission to an international arena by bringing high-quality primary and secondary education to the underprivileged across Asia.
On February 12, the first-ever Dolphin Energy Doha Dash will take place at Losail International Circuit, in celebration of Qatar National Sport Day. The event is sponsored by Dolphin Energy, which has offices in Doha and Abu Dhabi.
Reinforcing the concept of the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash as a true community sports event, organisers will pledge 25% of all registration fees to Rota.
The money raised from the event will enable Rota to continue providing high quality primary and secondary education in crisis affected areas across Asia and around the world, especially to educational environmental projects as well as supporting Rota’s proactive community and youth programmes in Qatar.
The event aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle and costs QR100 to enter the 5km run, QR50 to enter the 3km run while the 1km run for children and the 1km ladies walk is free of charge.
Registration is now open for the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash 2013. Participants can visit www.dohadash.com to register.
